for over three decades, Silvia Ehrenreich´s art world encompasses a whole universe of themes, techniques and differnt art styles. Silvia´s life motto "movement is life - life is movement" runs through all her series of artworks. She rejects stagnation and new inspirations are part of her artistic self-image. Her works explores mostly figurative and abstract art. the relationship between the painter and the viewer, the limits of the body, and the possibilities of the mind.
experimenting, exploring styles and materials are important creative elements for her. After watercolour and oil painting, drawing, she began working with mixed media and even action painting. Following her motto, her main motifs are the movement of water waves and dance.
reality and fantasy merge. Silvia Ehrenreich wants to reflect feelings, sensations passion and dreams, but also to react critically to social conditions; to deal with the present, the past and the future. With her predilection for longing, she repeatedly creates dreamy and fairytale-like worlds. Emotion and spontaneity characterise her abstract works. The haptic quality and the painterly statement often develop directly in the working process. If, in the face of the Corona pandemic, "Mickey Mouse & Co"was for a time a welcome counterbalance to communicate positive thoughts, Silvia Ehrenreich in turn created paintings with which she very much reacted to the state of uncertainty and threat. Thus her cycle of still lifes with water and seascapes in calm blue and green tones, painted on round canvases; currently three-dimensional picture worlds in which she brings torn cotton strips onto the canvas. This new way of creating something new from old material is her answer to waste and excess - recycling in art.
